Note "Taxonomic remark: Archbold (1987) re-describes the type species of Lialosia (L. kimberleyensis), with it lacking body spines on the valve exteriors. Two species with body spines, L. ovata Waterhouse, 1983 & L. shadrovskiyi Ustritskiy, 1984, were therefore excluded from the genus by Archbold, but it is unclear if they have been re-allocated to other genera.
